How The Bible Was Put Together and Proving Why It IS The Inspired Inerrant Word Of God

The purpose of  this report is to explain how the Bible was put together and therefore also demonstrate:

* why/how the Bible is the inspired inerrant Word of God

* why the Bible can be fully trusted to build our lives and faith upon

* why no other religious book is worthy to be compared to the Bible

Please also read this following link which also relates to this subject:

Why Most of Our Major Bible Translations Can Be Trusted

I have collected together (from various sources) logical arguments to prove these things.
My First Source collected from http://www.gotquestions.org/

Question 1: "Is the Bible truly God's Word?"

Answer: Our answer to this question will not only determine how we view the Bible and its importance to our lives, but also it will ultimately have an eternal impact on us. If the Bible is truly God’s Word, then we should cherish it, study it, obey it, and fully trust it. If the Bible is the Word of God, then to dismiss it is to dismiss God Himself.

The fact that God gave us the Bible is an evidence and illustration of His love for us. The term “revelation” simply means that God communicated to mankind what He is like and how we can have a right relationship with Him. These are things that we could not have known had God not divinely revealed them to us in the Bible. Although God’s revelation of Himself in the Bible was given progressively over approximately 1500 years, it has always contained everything man needs to know about God in order to have a right relationship with Him. If the Bible is truly the Word of God, then it is the final authority for all matters of faith, religious practice, and morals.

The question we must ask ourselves is how can we know that the Bible is the Word of God and not just a good book?
What is unique about the Bible that sets it apart from all other religious books ever written? Is there any evidence that the Bible is truly God’s Word? These types of questions must be seriously examined if we are to determine the validity of the Bible’s claim to be the very Word of God, divinely inspired, and totally sufficient for all matters of faith and practice. There can be no doubt

We Are No Longer Under Law But Under Grace! What Does That Really Mean?

Originally Posted 29 Jan 2010 But Revised and  Updated 27 Oct 2010.  Also Important Addition On 20th July 2012 (see bottom of this article for that  addition)

There seems to be a lot of confusion amongst most Christians regarding the verse which quotes "we are no longer under law but under grace".  These words tend to get wrongly quoted to mean that we no longer need rules within the church but should trust our experiences of the Holy Spirit within us, instead. They consider that rules and Law are the same thing and both lead to legalism, which the Christian should avoid. They, therefore say that we should be selective in what we read or how we interpret.

Clearly the scriptures DO teach us that "the letter kills (ie, legalism kills) but the Spirit gives life" (more details on this later)  but rules or instructions about how to be disciples are completely different from legalism or keeping the law. This article will explain what "we are no longer under Law, but under grace" actually means and prove it doesn't mean what a lot of Christians think it means.

The misinterpretation of those verses is the thin end of the wedge leading to a growth of apostasy within the churches because many are now ditching the Word of God in favour of their experiences. This is why I write this article to encourage us all to study the Bible, be Bereans, check these things out and so save ourselves from the slippery road into apostasy. By the way,  I don't reject experiences provided they are scriptural and measure up with the Bible. John told us to "test the spirits to see whether they be of God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1)

I believe the Lord has called me (according to 2 Tim 2:15) to be a workman rightly dividing (handling) the word of truth. Therefore, I will share the real meaning of the text just as God taught me.

Let us first look at the whole context of  “we are no longer under law but under grace” found in Romans 6:14.

Paul was speaking about the condemnation and hell judgement that the law of Moses brought to us. He said that before the law was given he would not have been aware of his sinful nature and its tendency to yield to temptation, but because the law was given (since the time of Moses) it revealed to him how sinful he was.

Paul goes on to say that the law of life in Christ Jesus sets us free from that law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). So, never again does the judgement, condemnation of the  law hang over us (showing us our sin leading to spiritual death),  because we are living in the grace (unmerited favour, mercy, forgiveness) of God which gives us Spiritual life, release and liberty within us. We are set free from God's judgement and the fear that that brings.

Although, we now have now become transformed within, this does not mean that we do not need to follow guidelines. We still follow guidelines or commandments in the power of the Holy Spirit. We don’t follow the Mosaic law of works in order to receive God’s salvation as it has been already given by GRACE. As our sins have been washed away,  the Holy Spirit now lives in us enabling us to live under the new covenant with ability to submit to God and to His laws of the new covenant.

Paul is referring to what it was like before grace came - before Jesus rescued us from the consequences of the Law.  When Paul talks about the law of sin and death he is talking about the result of trying to obey the Law. The Law highlights to us how sinful we are (whenever we try to be obedient to the Law). It also results in our spiritual death when we fail. So, it is a law that brings about sin and death in us. We cannot (in our own strength) fulfil it. This is why Paul cried out "who will save me from this body of death? Thanks be to Jesus!".

We talk about the laws of physics eg law of gravity. There is a principle (or condition) and a consequence. If you drop a heavy object it will fall. The condition "if you drop a heavy object" and a consequence "it will fall".

So, this could also be read (but means the same thing):
"the condition" of 'disobeying the Law or sinning, gives a "consequence" of death (spiritual death)". However, the "condition" of  being in Christ Jesus brings "consequence" Life (spiritual life). The law of life in Christ Jesus (because of continuous forgiveness and cleansing) through the power of the Holy Spirit, sets me free from

The Promise Keepers Movement is Dangerous. Watch Out For It!

New Ecumenical Mens Group Promise Keepers and Its Various Deviates

A note from JohnChingford. Please Note that the information given here is still applicable as the 7 promises of a Promise Keeper are still foremost in their mission statement as at 2010. See their website: http://www.promisekeepers.org/about/7promises

We do not hesitate to give the strongest possible warning now concerning the dangers of the Promise Keepers movement. Our reasons will be clearly stated and properly documented from original sources so that God's people may be able to see for themselves how this new movement is mixing truth and error. If for no other reason, the Promise Keepers movement is dangerous because it promotes an unscriptural agenda of forging a religious ecumenical unity which is absolutely forbidden in God's Word (2 Cor. 6:14-7:1; Eph. 5:11).  This full article can be found in
and below (in blue), But first, I would like to show clear evidence of the ecumenism of Promise Keepers, as follows:

Are Our Experiences More Important In Our Christian Faith Than knowing Him through His Word?

Based on conversations I have had, I had a real burden that I needed to respond to what was said. In fact it is such an important matter I felt I needed to share it with you all. It was said: "your faith is all knowledge, but no power (ie no experiences)"

I am not against experiences and do emphasise that certain experiences are necessary to follow Jesus. I in fact have had wonderful experiences of God, but we need to get things the right way round!

If we focus too much on our experiences, we tend to build our theology, interpretation of scripture on those experiences and have tendency to make the Word Of God say what "WE think" because of our experiences. The experience becomes the guideline to interpreting scripture which means we are already prejudiced before we even check the Bible. This usually leads us to ignore scripture verses which oppose our experiences and instead only follow the verses (many times out of context) we think back-up our experience. This is selective reading and making the bible say what we want it to say, ie we make God after our own image rather than be changed into His image. The scripture says:

So Tony Blair wants to work closely with Rick Warren! Not that long ago Tony Blair spent time with the Pope in the Vatican becoming a Roman Catholic. It is becoming ever clear now that Tony has a mandate from the Vatican (as an agent) with an agenda to fulfil. Please see the links below (particularly the second one which shows how things fit together for the purpose of a globalised ecumenical church as controlled by Rome).

Why True Believers Are Eternally Secure In Their Salvation

Edited 19 Sep 2012
After this article was written, I found another excellent article (possibly even better) written by the hand of Harry Ironside. Please read this new link first together with the following content. Please click here to read "Eternal Security of the Believer".

Here is an excellent article by Michael J. Penfold of  www.webtruth.org. (See also listed in "my links")  which explains clearly what happens when a person is truly born-again and why scripturally and logically the believer can not lose their salvation.. But it would be good to get things into context first by reading my post entitled What Is Repentance? found within this link   http://watchmanforjesus.blogspot.com/2010/02/what-is-repentance.html  Anyway, this is what Michael Penfold wrote:

Arriving at a clear understanding of the true nature of salvation represents the first step in settling the question of eternal security. The Bible clearly teaches that at the very moment of genuine repentance and saving faith a sinner is:  Converted - turned around (Acts 3:19),       Reconciled - made at peace (2 Cor 5:19),       Sanctified - set apart for God (1 Cor 1:2),       Regenerated - given new life (1 Pet 1:23),     Redeemed - purchased or bought back (1 Pet 1:18),      Adopted - placed in God’s family as a son (Rom 8:15) and        Justified - declared righteous by God (Rom 3:28, 2 Cor 5:21).

Furthermore the repentant sinner is sealed with, indwelt by, baptised in and anointed with the Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13, John 14:17, 1 Cor 12:13, 1 John 2:27). He receives eternal life (John 3:36) and because he is now ‘in Christ’, he is

How To Study The Bible and Why. Learning How To Avoid Deception

Added To and Edited 18 Dec 2010 and 18 Jan 2011

After you read this please read the following article (which will re-enforce why we should read the Bible) by clicking on this shortcut link: How The Bible Was Put Together and Proving Why It IS The Inspired Inerrant Word Of God

The first reason we should read the Bible is because it is our spiritual food. Jesus said "no one lives by bread (physical food) alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. God, the prophets, Jesus and the Apostles all declared that the scriptures were the WORD OF GOD. They are our spiritual food. In Hebrews it states that "the Word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing between soul and spirit". The Word is powerful and transforms us. It also protects us from false teachers or false prophets because we should compare what they say with what the Bible ACTUALLY says.

When I mention the Bible, of course I mean Bibles which are translated directly from the original manuscripts of the Bible. I do not mean "false" bibles which are NOT direct translations from the original manuscripts, such as paraphrases.

These original manuscripts were recognised by all (as explained within that shortcut link above) as the inspirational writings (canon) of truth (note: the canon does not include the apocrypha). So, the "false" bibles (like the paraphrases) are simply the author's personal and biassed interpretation which cannot be considered as inspirational or THE BIBLE as they are not direct translations from the Holy Spirit inspired Manuscripts, but have been contaminated by human (not divine) interpretations.

Therefore, please do not consider "The Message", "Living Bible" "New Living Translation" or any other paraphrase or interpretations of the Bible (which were not from the original manuscripts) as your BIBLE because they actually distort the true message. Note: many use these paraphrases to support their ungodly agendas. For example "the Message" has been written by an author who is seeking to bring the occultic New Age, teaching into the Bible. Please check out my article about "the message" within this shortcut link

Showing Why The Bible Version "The Message" Is Blasphemous

So what versions can we trust?
Those versions which can be used (reliably) as accurate translations of the WORD OF GOD are as follows: KJV,   NIV 1984 version only,  NKJV, NASB. I like to use these in combination to compare with each other so as to arrive at the correct meaning on the difficult passages.  There is actually virtually no difference (in meaning) in the translations of these apart from slightly different words being used to describe the same thing. By comparing the different versions it helps us to understand the true meaning better.  By the way, the NIV is very easy to read, so we really do not need paraphrases anyway! Please note that the NIV versions 2005 and 2010 have been changed to be more politically correct but no longer as trustworthy.

We should all study the Bible (eg, NASB,  NIV 1984 version only,  KJV, NKJV) direct and do not use paraphrases or versions not directly translated from the original manuscripts. I also advise that these 4 versions be compared and read together to ensure you arrive at the correct meaning of the text. It is first vital to get to know the whole Bible first: verse by verse, passage by passage, chapter by chapter, book by book.

You cannot properly  study the Bible (comparing scripture with scripture) until you have read it through first.
Therefore, I will now pass on some tips which have served many thousands of biblical Christians well (over the last century) on how to read and then study your Bible.

What Is Repentance?

Edited 31 Oct 2011, 28th Dec 2012 and 10th Oct 2014 (see in blue for latest edits)

I have made a number of important changes to this article (since first written) because I have come to realise that the way it was originally presented could lead to misunderstandings and a false representation of what I actually believe.  I specifically want to clarify that I do not believe in "Lordship Salvation".

What Is Repentance?
I do not believe in Calvinism nor Arminism as there are serious scriptural errors in both, although they do both hold to "some" truth. In my part, I choose to follow only the teachings of the whole Bible and not follow any particular line of theology. Therefore, the subject of repentance will be dealt directly from the Bible and not from any other theological preconceived position.

All I will say is that "we are saved by grace through faith - not by works lest any man should boast". Question is what about repentance? Is it a work to repent?  I will tackle this by asking what does it mean to repent?

Some people (including the Billy Graham organisation) say repentance is simply a change of mind. As I now understand it, he is correct according to the Greek meaning of the word.

Although the word repentance means "a change of mind" it needs to be accompanied with faith.  However, surely repentance is much more than a change of mind, isn't it? So many preachers tell seekers that all they need to do is change their mind and believe in Jesus, to be saved. Are they correct? If all that is required is a mental assent, how do they become "born-again"? Many people become superficial/nominal christians because all they have done is have an intellectual mind change, but nothing significant has happened deep within them.

When we look at the scriptures (particularly the New Testament) there is not just a change of mind but a change of heart. When Peter preached on Pentecost, it says that they were CUT TO THE HEART.  It was more than just a change of mind because a simple change of mind does not result in conviction of sin or a changed heart.

Paul wrote to the Corinthians saying:

yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done.” 2 Cor 7:9-11

The key words were “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation”

When I consider the context of the passage, it IS in regard to believers (not the unsaved). However, scripture often adds a GENERAL piece of teaching (within the specific part) which can be generally applied to all people, such as “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation”.

True repentance is not possible without first having “Godly sorrow” about sin which is a result of the convicting work of the Holy Spirit (not self effort). Granted it does not mention a “turning from sin” but it DOES require a Godly sorrow.

Therefore, true repentance is stimulated by Holy Spirit inspired GODLY sorrow for sin and a recognition/acknowledgement that salvation can be found in no-one else except Jesus.

There surely must come a time in a sinners life when they realise they need salvation from their sin. They learn about the sacrifice Jesus made for their sin and then need to change their mind and agree with God, by placing their faith upon Jesus as the only one who can save them from their sin and bring them into the presence of God.

I believe that this whole process is led and directed by the Holy Spirit who “convicts the world regarding righteousness, sin and judgement”. The Holy Spirit leads a sinner to repentance (which includes a Godly sorrow for sin) and faith in Jesus.

I then ask you: how does

Background To Why Apostasy Took Place Within Evangelical Christianity During and Since The Twentieth Century

Edited 11 Dec 2010, 17 Dec 2010 and 20 Jan 2011  (see in bold for edited sections).
This is part 2 of a series, looking at the apostate condition of the church and why it embraced Dominionism and Kingdom Now Theology. Please click on this shortcut link to see part 1 entitled:
Why Dominion and Kingdom Now Theology Leads The Church Down The Same Road To Apostasy As Pursued By Rome

In part 1 we looked at  how Dominionism and Kingdom Now theology  has (throughout history) lead the church away from the pure and simple truth of the gospel and  deviated away from the Bible. This article will now begin to look at why and how large sections of the evangelical, protestant church turned away from Biblical Christianity over the last 100 years  and why those sections are now apostate.

Up until the Reformation, the Dominion and Kingdom Now theology was practiced by the Roman Catholic Church and (through this practice) became the dominant force in the world.  We have now had the Reformation, followed by the availability of the Bible to all people, then followed by a number of  revivals which reintroduced a true Christian Church based on grace and not on works. This restored church recommenced the true life of Christ (by the Holy Spirit) within congregations globally and the sending out of missionaries to the 4 corners of the Earth.

However, over the last 100 years or so, there has (again) been a gradual  fall away (of the evangelical church) from sound biblically based Christian life. Instead of humble submission to God’s truth and  His Will as revealed through the Bible, the church has sought for other things. Christians were not content  with what they had but wanted more. They wanted more power, more fame, more experience, more miracles, more success etc

It is not wrong to desire more of God and desire for Him to be more glorified in this World  resulting in more GENUINE conversions and a greater desire to serve God, becoming more like Him but in brokenness and humility and a deeper love, realising that we are nothing and HE is everything.  These are the things we should all be seeking.

Problem is that  church leaders arose with the wrong perspectives. They wanted the power etc but not the cost. Their longings for the experience and demonstrations of power were so strong that they didn’t care how it came (generally speaking). Instead of seeking God with all their hearts in humility and surrender to HIS WILL and  letting God answer the prayers according to HIS will, THEY decided God was calling them to do HIS work for Him, by building the structures for revival in their own strength, using unbiblical methods, such as marketing or new age methods. They deliberately ignored certain scriptures such as “unless the LORD builds the house they labour in vain who try to build it”.

They  (NOT GOD) had decided that HE was going to bring a massive global revival BEFORE the return of Jesus (according to their misinterpretations of the scriptures). If  they did not bring it about, it would not happen. They believed

In These days Of Apostasy and False Christianity, Should We Still Attend Apostate Churches?

A Little About The Apostasy
This blog has demonstrated, with clear evidence (over and over again) that the great majority of Christianity (including protestants and evangelicals) have become infected/infiltrated with apostasy.

The apostasy includes an overwhelming acceptance of ecumenism, i.e. unity with  the pagan Babylonian originated Roman Catholic church, and even ALL FAITHS unity, New Age thinking and much occult activity. The church of the 21st Century has widely compromised on the fundamental teachings from the Bible by putting greater emphasis on the physical, mental, psychic, mystic and “spiritual” EXPERIENCES rather than following after the pure, unadulterated, simplicity of the Bible and NT Christianity.

They have forgotten the exhortation (in the Bible) that EVERYTHING must be weighed up by the plumbline of Scripture. What has happened to “testing all things” by the Word of God?  What about 2 Tim 3:15-16:

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ JesusAll scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

But the Word of God rarely NOW has centre place in churches and very few believers are discipled into proper Bible study and certainly are not trained to follow 2 Tim 2:15:

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Instead many simply open the bible randomly (when they do actually go to that extent) and collect their doctrine from isolated verses and WELL out of context, instead of comparing scripture with scripture and properly seeking to understand the context of why something was written.

Instead they are taught to seek “experiencing the Lord” rather than seeking to know the Lord through His word and prayer. For more on this, see footnote below

In the light of these apostate days and apostate churches,  SHOULD true born again believers STILL go to church? To find out, please click on the icon entitled  "read more" below.

Showing Why The (Experiential) Emerging Church Christianity is Apostate, Pagan, Babylonic and Catholic

Updated And Revised 27 Oct 2010
I have described in many other posts the link between old Babylonic religion and Catholicised Christianity. You will have seen how the Roman Empire sought to introduce Babylonic paganism into Christianity by renaming Babylonic style worship with "so called" Christian names in order to introduce a global (catholic) religion which would be acceptable to Christians and pagans alike to aid Rome in its global conquest.

The hidden agenda and purpose behind the Emerging Church is (effectively) to do the same thing, by bringing Christianity back to the dark ages of Catholic dominance.

Before I bring the evidence of why this movement is apostate I would  like to give you a link to a video from Roger Oakland of Calvary Chapel. He gives a very powerful message exposing what the Emerging Church really is and its very dark roots. Please click on this shortcut link  http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2354082808894087473#

Note: After this was written I received some comments and replied to them (see the comments section). As the questions answers were (practically) a separate article on their own, I decided to post a separate article which complements this one entitled "Answers To Questions On Why Emerging Church Teaching Should Be Rejected" (please click on that link).

This is a portion of a written article also by Roger Oakland (who is a specialist on the emerging church) and illustrates why true born-again believers should not be involved in Emerging Church but actually expose it for what it is ie "a re-reinvention of Babylonic religion".o continue with THIS report please read on ....

Comparing How To Be Truly Saved (The Biblical Way) To The Nicky Gumbel (Of Alpha Courses) False Way

Note : 2 paragraphs (as shown below) were slightly modified on 9th Nov 2014 by omitting (not adding to) some sentences which this author believes to be in error.

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

I was handed a book written by Nicky Gumbel entitled "Why Jesus?" and asked for my comments. I read it and observed (within that book) the same things which Michael Penfold of http://www.webtruth.org/ highlights regarding the Alpha Course.

Basically, that Nicky Gumbel's idea of sin and salvation is completely false and leads seekers to a very superficial form of salvation (which is probably NO salvation at all). I say "probably" rather than definitely because God has Sovereign power and CAN and probably does save some people (even through an Alpha Course) but NOT because of the teaching but in spite of, because HE gives personal revelation to that individual. But it does mean that he/she might carry certain unhelpful "baggage" into his/her christian life, which will need to be "undone" sooner or later.

I thought it would be good to show Michael's report as an answer to my inquirer, but please also click on these following shortcut links which act as a supplement to this article:
How To Be Truly Saved and Be Certain Of Going To Heaven

Why Jesus Is The ONLY Way To Heaven and How To Be Saved

I now show what Michael Penfold wrote. But before I do so, just a note to say that I have omitted (but not added anything to) some of his sentences on bits I believe to be in error regarding his description of biblical repentance. Here it is:

Why Book Of Enoch Is A Fake, Alert

Did the enemy write this?

Edited 31 Jan 2011 (Have added another link as evidence). See the bottom of this article. Also edited 29 Oct 2014 (in brown).

I read through the Book of Enoch about 6 months ago, out of interest because it was mentioned in the book of Jude (in the Bible). I did this (out of curiosity) to see why it was not considered as inspired scripture and also so that I could answer those who had read it.

The first thing I noticed was how scrambled it was - all over the place, much like what you find in other religions or cults holy books. I tried to make sense of it but could not.

Certainly it contradicts canonical scripture, quotes heresy and is nonsense by the way it has been put together. It doesn't give you the sense of inspiration or truth that the 66 God breathed books give in the recognised Bible.

Apparently, the book of Enoch was discovered together with the dead sea scrolls. Some people assume that because it was found with the dead sea scrolls, that that (in itself) authenticates its reliability. Are they correct? It actually reminds me of an excerpt from Matthew 13:27-28 "Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’He said to them,An enemy has done this". Jesus stated that the good seed is the Word of God and therefore the bad seed is NOT the word of God but a false or counterfeit version. This principle of teaching could be applied to the book of Enoch (bad seed) amongst the good seed found in the same place.

Here is one site that exposes the falseness of that Enoch book:
http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Wolves/book_of_enoch.htm

This article on that site highlights many things which illustrate that the Book of  Enoch is a fake. This is an excerpt from that page, which I agree with:

"As you read the Book of Enoch, you will notice

Appealing To Christian Blog Writers and Born Again Believers Everywhere To Demonstrate Love

It is time for us to change our behaviour and make a difference!   If we are truly born again by God's Holy Spirit, then it should be evident by the way we conduct ourselves with each other.  We need to show this world that true Christians are different. If we do so, maybe, just maybe they will listen to our message.

There are far too many blogs/websites and contributors who do not express the love of God to each other, but get embroiled in needless angry, hateful retaliatory disputes on vital and not so vital doctrine. It is okay to earnestly defend truth, ESPECIALLY if it is over vital foundational truth, but even then it should be done with a humble, loving gracious, merciful attitude AT ALL TIMES!!!.

Watchman, apologetics and discernment sites (if they are good, sound and reputable ones) rightfully focus on defending the faith and exposing error, heresy, apostasy etc and warning against false teachers according to the instructions in the New Testament to protect the church against wolves. This blog is no different and its main purpose is to do this - especially exposing ecumenical (Catholic), New Age, etc infiltration.  However, THERE IS a right and wrong way to do this. We must always remember to speak the truth IN LOVE. I do hope that this blog DOES illustrate this.

This article is an exhortation for us all to start expressing that love. I hope this can be done by reminding us what the New Covenant (NT) teaches. Here are a few to get us going:

1 John 2: 9-11 "He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes."

1 John 3:17-18  "But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth."

1 John 4:20-21 " If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?  And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also"

The apostle John spent much of his letters discussing the importance of love. The words I underlined are stressing that it is no good to just say the right things if we do not express love in action. Yes, we must SPEAK truth (because we

List and Details On Other False Teachers and Prophets

Article First Published 15 March 2010  Now fully revised 21 Jan 2011.

Please read through it all as many changes have been made.

I have now added a new article on 15 Oct 2010 to supplement this article. Please  check out this following new articlet by clicking on this shortcut link   Qualities Of True Biblical Leadership Compared To the False Teachers    to help you determine whether a teacher is true (sound) or false BEFORE you read this article.

Anyway, this post was first published in an attempt to list OTHER false teachers and false prophets (ie, those not already mentioned within the "False Teachers and prophets" label, up until  now - although later posts may mention them). It started off by listing men and women to be avoided or wary of, who preach or teach: heresy, ecumenicalism, word of faith or habitually give false prophesies. Evidence of  their false teaching will become clearer as you read the various posts within this blogsite.

Before you read any further,  please familiarise yourselves with a more recent article dated 15 Sep 2010  which is a reply to a wrongly held criticism of this site. To see that article please click on this shortcut link Christian Protestant Denominations In 2010. Are They Now All Apostate? (Of Course Not). This Blog's Statement

I originally listed just a minimal number of  names within this article but then found (later) that this article was not really workable, anymore, and needed a replacement. Therefore, I wrote another more appropriate article, some time later, which will be revealed at the bottom of this article. This post did depend upon contributions from others, and (where I was able to) I  checked them out, first.

Please read on to see the small initial list I produced and a lot more details as to how and where to find all other appropriate articles related to the  subject of this article:

Showing Why The Bible Version "The Message" Is Blasphemous

In these last days there are hundreds of newer versions of the bible being thrust upon us. I believe it is satan's tool to confuse us and pervert the truth. "The Message" written by Eugene Peterson is heavily endorsed and used by Rick Warren and his Saddleback church. The overuse of "the Message" can be seen specifically in Rick Warren's Purpose Driven books. "The Message" is the biggest example of men blaspheming/ corrupting God's truth. This post will expose the error and the hidden agenda of this false bible.
After reading this article, please then take a look at this link  http://www.sdadefend.com/MINDEX-U-Z/Saddleback.pdf which shows how Rick Warren uses the false translation of "the Message" to distort truth and how he produces a very worldly and counterfeit type of church devoid of  "real" spiritual life.

New paragraph added 1st September 2013:
The following has been taken from http://www.crossroad.to/Bible_studies/Message.html which shows how dangerous this false "bible" is (actually a paraphrase - a man's own opinions on what the Bible says) and why it should be rejected, thrown away or even burnt. To read it, is to allow your mind to become polluted by false interpretation which can colour forever the way you view God, His true message, truth, sin etc etc. Eventually the harm done could take years to undo and may never be fully healed. We MUST study God's word direct from trustworthy versions only (more on that later and throughout this blog).

What kind of message is THE MESSAGE?

Written in 1993 in response to several requests

Emphasis added throughout the report
The Message DELETES the reference to God's holy name, ADDS requests not voiced by Jesus, and changes the meaning of other verses. Follow the link and learn more about the phrase, "As above, so below."

   Matthew 6:9-13
"Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
The Message:
"Our Father in heaven,
Reveal who you are.
Set the world right;
Do what's best -
Keep us alive with three square meals.
Keep us forgiven with you
and forgiving others.
Keep us safe
from ourselves and the Devil.
You're in charge!
The Message distorts the relationship between God the Father and Jesus the Son:

John 10:30"I and the Father are one."

John 14:28
"...The Father is greater than I."

The Message:
"I and the Father are one heart and mind."

The Message:
"The Father is the goal and purpose of my life."
