The Manhattan Declaration and Westminster 2010 Declaration. A New Globalised Ecumenical Movement Emerging

I found information on this new globalising ecumenical movement as reported on http://www.shepherdsconference.org/pulpit/4444/the_manhattan_declaration/ and also on http://www.webtruth.org/latest-news.php ie the Nov09 article Standing Against Evangelical Betrayal. Here are 2 excerpts from the Manhattan Declaration ecumenical website.

Notice that twice it states "for the common good" or should that read Common Purpose ? It certainly matches what the organisation Common Purpose teach. It is an organisation of Evangelicals, Catholics and others working together for what exactly? They say to uphold Christian values, but according to John McArthur's article above, this is very loosely done, ie typical apostate stuff . In 2009 a number of Christian leaders known for their public witness on behalf of justice, human rights, and the common good came together in shaping the historic Manhattan Declaration.

Britain Hung!

After reading Bob Mitchell's latest post regarding the Icelandic Volcano, I couldn't help think that maybe (tongue in cheek) God has passed judgement by sentencing Britain with a "hung" parliament (a play on the word "hang" as a method of sentencing a convict).   Joking apart, what are the implications for Britain of having a hung parliament? Well I am no politician or specialist on the subject but I do understand that this means a coalition is necessary as there is no majority party in Parliament.

At present the current leader Gordon Brown remains Prime Minister even though his party did not receive the largest vote. It is just a matter of time before that ceases to be the case. Reading between the lines the coalition will be between the Conservative Party (David Cameron) and the Liberal Democrats (Nick Clegg).

Those who follow Israeli politics will be well aware of what a coalition is like and the requirements for it to be successful. Much negotiation and compromise. In fact, the Common Purpose (see my last post) training will come in very useful, ie working together for the common good (purpose) of whom?

This report (having been in transition previously) is now finished as follows.

I have been inspired to write this article after a comment made by Someone on Bob Mitchell's blogsite. Basically they were concerned about the activities of a group called Common Purpose which are growing very rapidly and seem to be behind the scenes pushing for the EU takeover of Britain. I guess I was intrigued because of the name. Another one with "purpose" in the title. Also because I wondered if they were another Vatican (or should we say Illuminati) puppet. All part of the scheme of things?

This report has taken a long time to put together. It comes through much research of all inter-relating information and evidence and the concern  to present  the facts, with the strong desire for truth. I have also compared these findings with prophecies in the Word Of God and the Bible’s general teaching, so that I know what things should or should not be said.


As this is such a serious post I HAVE to be thorough. I also want to write things which Christians can use in their witness and be encouraged, so I have to be careful to edify, ie not just give information (which could be detrimental for believers) but also accompanied by encouraging words.

What Is Common Purpose and How Does It Fit Into The Whole Scheme Of Things?

I have been inspired to write this article after a comment made by Someone on Bob Mitchell's blogsite. Basically they were concerned about the activities of a group called Common Purpose which are growing very rapidly and seem to be behind the scenes pushing for the EU takeover of Britain.
