Mike Hoggard Latest News Update

Edited 23 July 2012

I should have done this some time ago but had forgotten I had written this article. Please exercise caution when listening to Mike Hoggard because he has some very questionable ideas bordering on cultish ideas eg that only the KJV is inspirational and contains bible codes. I could say much about that, but just suffice to say that finding hidden meaning via codes etc is surely bordering on the occult? However, Mike is very informative on a number of issues that we all need to be aware on. However, you do not need to watch HIM for that information because the same information can be found elsewhere on more sound sites. However, if you insist in listening/watching him PLEASE be wary and as always weigh it up with reliable versions of the scriptures by comparing them with each other (NIV, KJV, NKJV, NASB).

I can no longer endorse his site though. This is why I did not advise (any more) of all his updates. Please see my further notes within the final Article I wrote regarding Mike Hoggard' site Mike Hoggard's Latest Video Now Removed

  1. I googled Mike Hoggard to see if I was the only person seeing that he is incorporating things subtly into his teachings that are not Scriptural. I have listened to hours of his videos. He says he is getting much, if not all, of his info via "revelation" rather than just diligent study, he uses numbers the way Camping did, and he is blatantly teaching occult information as if it is actually found in the Bible. He seems to be spending more time studying occult literature than the Bible. People are not catching this stuff and it is worrisome. I see him as becoming the next Harold Camping given a few more years. He is leading people afield with some of his teachings. Other than myself, you are the only one I have found that has written warning people about him. Does nobody else see this?

  2. I googled to see if there was anyone besides me that has a problem with what Hoggard is teaching, and you were the only one I found. I have listened to hours of his videos and am quite concerned. He says he gets his information via "revelation" (rather than diligent study of precept upon precept), he uses numbers like H.Camping did, he sometimes teaches occult information as if it is found in the Scriptures and is Biblical truth, and subtly incorporates things that are not Scriptural at all into his sermons. He spends a lot of time "decoding" occult books via "revelation" instead of studying the Bible. His "revelations" do not always line up with Scripture or else sometimes are nonsensical. There is much more I could say, but that is enough for here. People do not seem to be catching all this stuff which probably should not surprise me as people are ignorant of the Scriptures. I thought I was the only one seeing it. I'm glad I'm not, but that's only two of us.

  3. Thanks for writing Connie.

I found an interesting site which seems quite. Those contributing seem quite clued up about most of the apostasy surrounding us and are quite clued up regarding the truth of scriptural teaching.

However, they do have a number of supporters of Mike Hoggard.

You might be interested in my contributions there.

  4. I too am concerned about Mike Hoggard, so make that 3. If anybody has anything well written and documented against him, I would be greatly interested. There are some folks who are close to my heart who have had the wool pulled over their eyes. I am currently trying to remedy this. Any and all help would be appreciated. Some things Mike says seem pretty good and scriptural, but most of it is out there. Also I don't understand why all the emphasis on the conspiracy theories. Sure they may be true, and many are no doubt, but as Christians our focus needs to be on the eternal, not the temporal, on the heavenly not so much on the earthly. A preacher is to be a doctor of the soul, not a fear-mongering news anchor...

  5. Thanks Anon for writing your concerns.

Did you take a look at the things I wrote on the rap.con site?

If not, I recommend you take a look by reading through the conversation on:

  6. Dear Anonymous,
I have been listening to hours of Mike Hoggard and documenting verbatim some of the outrageous things he has said. The latest being that Paul taught that the doctrine of salvation was because of the giants and that we were chosen to replace the fallen angels. I keep updating it as I listen and catch things. You can find my article at http://bibleconundrumsandcontroversy.blogspot.com/2012/03/mike-hoggard-anti-apostasy-teacher-or.html. Hope this gives you ammunition to convince people.

  7. Thanks Connie

I took a look at your article. I read the first third of it only. The first third was sufficient to tell me that I could recommend what you had written. I must admit that I had exactly the same nagging doubts in my mind about Mike Hoggard eg his "revelations".

Those who use that term "revelations" are usually from the ilk of false prophets like Benny Hinn.

I wrote a comment on your article.

    God bless

  8. I think it's important for people to remember that Mike is head of Prophetic Research at his church.
He's also a Watchmen, (i.e. observing and reporting on world happenings as they play-out and relate to scripture in the Last Days.
The last days are scary and not really fun. YOU SHOULD BE CONCERNED.

  9. Hi FFelix

Have you reads all the comments and especially all the comments within the given links by Connie and myself?

We are not disputing that there are many scary things happening within so called "evangelical Christianity". This blog tries to expose them all.

We are not criticising Mike Hoggard for telling about these things but ARE concerned by his "revelations". He self confesses that God is giving him many hidden revelations in unravelling the scriptures.

His "revelations" contain many errors and distort the truth. He is actually giving his own interpretations on the scary events taking place using extra biblical (not in the bible) sources to arrive at his interpretations such as the coming together again of the 14 pieces.

Here is a part of what I wrote on one of those links:

"I don't dispute that there may be some codes written by the Hand of God within the original manuscripts. My dispute is with those who say the same applies with the King James version. However, I do have grave concerns about focussing too much on the hidden codes (even in the original manuscripts) because The Bible is the WORD of God and should be read/studied at face value - not looking for hidden meaning through codes. Looking for hidden codes is an occultic/babylonic type practice and reeks of divination.

""The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law" Deut 29:29 NASB

"For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off." Deut 30:11 KJV

"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them"
    Isaiah 8:20 KJV

So THEREFORE, we are NOT to look for hidden mysteries but focus on learning direct from the REVEALED Word of God, through the revealed WORDS.

Here is an interesting article on this subject from "Let Us Reason" ministries
    http://www.letusreason.org/current24.htm"

2 more verses to add which re-emphasise that God does not hide things in hidden codes or in secret mysteries or mysticism.

    Isa. 45:19
“I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth .....”

    Isa 48:16
”Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning”

The "mysteries" are only found in the occult and in Babylonic religions like Freemasons, and Illuminati (which is part of the Catholic organisation - see my article entitled "Why The Catholic Church is Not a Christian Denomination" http://watchmanforjesus.blogspot.co.uk/2010/03/why-catholic-church-is-not-christian.html for evidence of this).

  11. John,

What did Mike say about the coming together of the 14 pieces? I missed that, but then I quit listening to him after I wrote my other two articles on his KJV code and his use of brainwashing techniques within his presentations. By the way, for your readers, I am not accusing him of doing this deliberately, but he is very definitely using these techniques knowingly or not.

  12. Hi Connie

The watchman video which contains his discussion about the 14 pieces can be found pasted within rap_con with all the comments I made on it. http://www.rap-con.com/forum/the-missing-piece-babylon-and-the-nwo

He is saying that the son of Nimrod (Baal) was killed and divided into 14 parts (or was it 13 - can't remember) with one of the pieces being the phallic symbol (which is so worshipped in Babylonic mystery religion). These pieces were divided and scattered throughout the Earth. He refers to the dividing of tongues as a dividing of the rebellion against God and that God always divided evil, but evil always wants to be united, so is an act of rebellion against God to restore global unity and to reunite these pieces.

He says that when the 14 pieces are joined together with all the parts that the "son god" is resurrected. He shows that the NWO is trying to bring back the pieces by global governance with the phallic symbol as very important to this unity.

Mike continues for more than an hour trying to give us the impression that God has given him a real revelation (not actually contained within the Bible, though)showing us the significance of events happening now, giving his conclusions and reinterpreting straight forward scripture verses (in the light of these revelations) but these interpretations are completely off the rails.

The Mike Hoggard video is 1hour 43 mins long but you only need to listen to the first 10-15 minutes to learn about the 14 pieces and its significance (according to M Hoggard). I have just checked out the first 15 minutes again to get my info. straight.

Actually, he is referring to Greek and Egyptian mythology and the names of Isis, Osiris and Horus. Osiris is the Egyptian name of Nimrod and became (as I understand it) the sun god through his son known as Horus. The brother of Nimrod/Osiris (Seth?) killed Nimrod and cut him into 14 pieces. The 14th piece was the phallis (penis) which could not be found.

Anyway, I do not want to continue this folly. I am only giving a bite size to show how Mike Hoggard is preaching his extra biblical stuff and why we should not listen.

He certainly has a very attractive style - very charismatic (in both ways) and gets your attention sounding very interesting. He is definitely attractive to those who have "itching ears" who are not satisfied with the unadulterated Word of God but are looking for NEW teaching.

Even the apostle Paul said that his style of preaching was not with great eloguence like the "super apostles" (Paul's sarcasm) but he was not concerned with attractive preaching BUT ONLY IN PREACHING TRUTH. We have the truth in the Bible - we do not need extra stuff!!!

  14. Ah, I see what you are talking about now. This is one of my problems with him. He treats the myth as being the ultimate truth and reinterprets the Bible in light of that information. He never seems to take the Bible at face value. If he would simply read God's Word literally and teach what it says, he would do his listeners far more good. Did you know that he is teaching that the antichrist is coming the same way as Jesus will, but the difference is there won't be clouds and that is how people can know it isn't Jesus, by the lack of clouds? That seems to have been one of his "revelations." He teaches it as if the Bible really says this, and people never check on him or question it. God is so right when He says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." They most certainly are and will be.

  15. Add one more to the list of concerned. Had to turn him off.

  16. I disagree with comments about Mike Hoggard. Sure he is not perfect - but you lot are far less than he is. It is a PROVEN fact that KJV 1611 (and the exact same in any other language) is the ONLY bible that traces back to Jerusalem, Israel and the others trace back to Alexandria, Egypt. If you don't believe the evidence - ASK GOD WHICH BIBLE IS HIS AND HE WILL TELL YOU HIMSELF IT'S THE KJV AND IF YOU ASK FOR PROOF HE WILL SHOW YOU.

As for that 'connie' - she lectures on scripture when God tells women not to do that, so now she lecturing men of God. Witch!

Pastor Mike does have his baptist attitude to some gospel truths - but overall his message and work is focused on Jesus Christ and the KJV is the true foundation of Christ Jesus:

  17. I normally wouldn't post such aggressive nastiness as that from Anonymous, but on this occasion I just wanted to show how followers of false teachers/prophets behave. Notice those words this "anonymous" used "witch!". Also notice how those who have nastiness hide behind the name "anonymous"

  18. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

God does not allow a woman to be a pastor, but I do not have a church. He commands everyone, male and female to be a witness for Him and speak His word boldly. That is all I do.

Priscilla taught Apollos, who was an apostle, when he did not know all of the counsel of God. God had no problem with that.

Acts 18:26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

  19. Hi Connie

Thanks for the comment. You DID need to respond to that nastiness.

However, I disagree with your interpretation. It doesn't say that Aquila taught Apollos. It says:

"when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him".

    It says "they".

As a good respectful wife, I am sure that Priscilla allowed Aquila to do most of the talking. She was with him to give support. When we consider the rest of NT teaching, I am sure that is what happened. Certainly there is no clear indication that she DID do the talking, is there?

  20. Add me to the list of concerned, too! I've watched a few of Mike's DVDs, but most of my opinion of him is formed by a person I know who is "heavily" into listening to him. The fruits of his teaching are disturbing! I'll list the issues: 1)heavy emphasis on conspiracy theories 2)ungodly thirst for a knowledge of past and present occult/pagan symbolism and practices 3)a claim to possess a necessary knowledge of how "satan works" that 99% of christians don't have, but should have 4)so-called justification to forsake the assembling of believers (ie.church)due to such things as witchcraft in the church and other things such as the church not using the KJV. I understand this is a reflection of Mike through a follower, so I'm not claiming he has taught all these things. However, I've heard enough of his teaching via DVD and this person and my doubts about him are growing. (I'm sorry I've chosen to be anonomys, but it would be very unpleasant should this person stumble across this comment. It would be obvious to this person if they saw my name that I was talking about them.)

  21. Hi, I am new here and have read what Anonymous said regarding that the King James Version is the ONLY Bible which is correct. I have a question to ask, "Which King James version?" The Cambridge edition has a few differences from the Oxford edition, so if I am being true to God's Word as exhorted by Anonymous which is correct?
I have read a few of Connie's posts and as she is not teaching in a local church to all of said members then she is not in violation of Scriptural teaching on that subject and I find her quiet spirit even under provocation a thing of beauty.

Mr. Anonymous clearly shows his blind and willful ignorance in his post defending Hoggard.

First, he apparently does not agree with the "baptist" view of salvation which in most cases is biblical as opposed to other denominations.

Secondly, he has apparently is some sort of hot head who has not taken the time to actually read the evidence presented by John and Connie regarding legitimate concerns about Hoggard.

Instead, he directs his wrath at a female, a sister in Christ, who dares (as a female)to question a (male) teacher.

  23. Hi John, I am writing to continue the thought about using verses out of context. Hoggard surely says some good stuff, but reading in his own ideas into separate Bible verses is obvious. A better example than the one I gave in my previous post about tongues is Hoggard's interpretation of 1. Cor. 14:27. He uses this verse to say that there were three original languages of the Bible, Hebrew, Arameic, and Greek which were interpreted by one, the King James Version. Hmmm... The text context just does not support his interpretation. With love Tuula
